Robert Miller was present not only physically but emotionally and professionally. He did not leave my friend's side until they knew he was out of immediate danger. He was so personable. My friend is extremely hard of hearing and has trouble articulating. That particular day, Bob was extremely patient. He repeated his questions to R at least 3 to 4 times, remained respectful, and did not become irritated. At the end of Bob's shift he actually stayed on longer to make sure everything was done for R that could be done before R was taken to the MRI scanner. Then Bob came back and explained to R's daughter some of the things that we could expect to happen should R's diagnosis be a stroke. Also, he explained some of the lab values. Bob had a fabulous first impression of the Sanford ER. Lately, a lot of people have complained that they've had to wait in the waiting room for up to six hours to be seen. We came to the ER with some fear that we would have to wait. That was not the case. Bob had a calming, professional presence, and a wonderful sense of humor.
