Robert was exactly who my dad needed coming out of surgery. My dad was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma four weeks ago and had surgery to have his kidneys removed. My dad is 73 and loves to talk to anyone who will listen. Robert took the time each shift. He was there to spend at least an extra fifteen minutes a day with my dad just to listen to his stories and “advice.” Even when he had to listen to the same story four times in one day, Robert never once showed anything but interest in what my dad had to say.

Robert was an example of excellent patient care and what a nurse should be. Knowing my dad had someone caring for him both physically and mentally/emotionally was a huge load off my shoulders. Robert made my dad feel comfortable by explaining his medical situation in a way that my dad could understand and trust. Robert was a crucial part of why I feel my dad healed so quickly.
