Robert Swiderski is being recognized by our unit for his overwhelming generosity and compassion for our patient population, families and fellow staff members. On multiple occasions, he has gone above and beyond job responsibilities and title and helped out our patients and staff. For example, he recently donated a large amount of money to a past well-loved patient via a "go fund me account". The patient had come out of remission and was faced with financial hardship. Most recently he personally checked into the cost of a patient's medication who did not have insurance, this patient was recently diagnosed with end-stage pancreatic cancer and wanted nothing more than to go home and watch MSU in the Big 10 championship, and be comfortable. The patient could not afford medication and was going to go home without medication, but Robert stepped in and personally picked up the medication from our pharmacy taking care of all costs. For Christmas Robert had purchased all of 10 North and South hooded sweat jackets with our unit number and title to promote unity and team atmosphere. Robert is a hero in our eyes.
