While at home at 3:00 am, my husband was going into a cardiac arrest with his heart rate dropping down to 30. I was so afraid. The anticipatory grief took complete control of my emotions. Once my husband was admitted and assigned to the 8th floor, my grief was still paramount. The thought of losing my soulmate after 37 years was unbearable. My emotions and feelings were all over the place, including anger. I struck out at both animate and inanimate objects. I called for a nurse case manager and patient advocate so I could give my laundry list of complaints. My husband and I prayed for God to calm my spirit, and God answered immediately by sending in an angel, whom I would like to refer to as a “hostage negotiator” to my broken heart of emotion and who reminded me of the gentle giant, the actor “the Rock.” As Robert entered the room, his personality was so calm, peaceful, and soothing until I melted, and all the inner grief, fear, pain, and anxiety dissipated. I am a grateful and blessed wife, and I'm so glad we chose your hospital for our acute care needs.

Thank you, Robert W, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
