It is with great appreciation that we recognize Roberta Garcia, LVN, for her exceptional dedication to patient care. Roberta consistently goes above and beyond in every interaction, taking the time to truly listen and understand each patient’s unique story. Her compassion, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Recently, Roberta demonstrated extraordinary initiative and advocacy for a patient who had suffered a stroke and, soon after, experienced chest pain on the way to an appointment. Thanks to timely medical intervention, the patient was found to be having a heart attack and underwent open-heart surgery. Following his release, Roberta spoke with him and learned he was worried about having used all his vacation time on medical issues. Roberta immediately stepped in to support him. She explained the protections provided by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and ensured he received the necessary paperwork. Going well beyond her usual duties, she personally delivered the forms to a provider located at another clinical site to obtain a signature, making sure the patient could secure job-protected leave and not risk losing his employment during an already difficult time. Roberta’s actions reflect the highest standards of care, compassion, and patient advocacy. Her dedication exemplifies what it means to truly serve our patients with integrity and heart. We are grateful for her outstanding contributions and the positive impact she makes every day
