While at a concert on her day off Roberta found a woman behind a building unconscious. She immediately delivered rescue breaths to the patient while calling and waiting for the ambulance. She then called the Emergency Department Charge Nurse to explain what was coming in by ambulance. Coincidentally the next morning this same patient became hers. Roberta immediately went to assess her and introduce herself, never mentioning to the patient what happened the night before. While leaving I witnessed Roberta washing this patient's hair with a basin, soap, and water, so she was not embarrassed when her ride came. Roberta kept this patient safe, maintained her dignity and ultimately saved her life.
