In a world so full of hate and darkness it can become easy to lose sight of where we are going, but some people will come into your life with a natural aura or light and help lead you out of the darkness. Robilynn is one of those people. Her energy is the only contagious thing you would ever want to catch at a hospital. Her ability to connect on a level of a longtime friend or family member in a time where I needed support and the ability to trust is intangible.
I have been searching for a reason behind my pain for about nine years. During this search, I have been to many hospitals and met a lot of staff. I recall a time when I went into the ER about six years ago and within minutes a resident changed my life. He told me I was wasting his and the hospital's time and what I was feeling was in my head and sent me home with two new problems. I lost my trust in my body and mind and was instantly depressed; it took years for me to act on the pain and seek treatment.
Within a few minutes, staff can have long-term effects on people's lives. It only took Robilynn seconds as she is a beacon of hope, light, and energy. You feel better the days she is working on your floor. Even when she wasn't on our floor she came to check on me. Zeeland Hospital is lucky to have a nurse like her as she makes patients feel better by just being around. It's people like her that are so valuable in a time when the strongest pain reliever won't touch your pain. Robilynn is able to close that gap somehow. This woman deserves every bit of this award.
