Robin Akins, RN

I would like to commend Robin Akins for the exceptional compassion and support she provides to the families in her care. As a postpartum nurse, finding extra time to build meaningful connections can be challenging, but Robin consistently goes above and beyond.

Recently, she cared for a new mother who was experiencing a significant personal loss during an already emotional time. Robin provided comfort, reassurance, and emotional support, helping the mother navigate both the joys and challenges she was facing. She took the time to listen, offer encouragement, and bring moments of laughter when they were needed most.

Robin's kindness extended beyond her scheduled shift. On her day off, she brought the mother a thoughtful card to express her support and even attempted to bring her a favorite meal. Although that plan did not work out, the gesture alone demonstrated Robin's genuine care and concern. Her actions brought comfort during a difficult time and left a lasting impression on the family.

Robin provides excellent care to all of her patients, but she has a special way of recognizing when someone needs additional support. She consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that her patients feel cared for, valued, and never alone. Her compassion, selflessness, and dedication embody the very spirit of the DAISY Award
