My husband first met Robin many years ago at another hospital. He felt a special quality about her then. It was not until this year, he had to come back to the Radiology Department for many paracenteses. He was also hospitalized for very high ammonia levels. He was very tired, confused, and agitated.
During one of his confused situations, Robin stepped in, calmed him, rescheduled a later paracentesis earlier because of the cirrhosis (NASH), checked on him before she left for the day, left her cell number if further aggression occurred, checked on him again in the morning before her shift, and had taken time prior to help calm me too.
She takes the patient-RN relationship to a higher personal level, making you feel like family. My husband felt the most comfortable with her. She goes over and beyond the definition of a good nurse. She sets the standards of an "excellent" RN, a woman your hospital is blessed to have on staff. Thank you Robin!
Note: This is Robin's 2nd DAISY Award!
