Robin is dedicated to providing the best care to her patients and does so with great kindness. She has a wide knowledge of wound care and has a calming and encouraging bedside manner. Robin is always the ultimate professional and is collaborative with everyone from patients to doctors to pharmacists and on.
I want to share a particular instance which demonstrates Robin's dedication. I had a patient who was in a motorcycle accident and was at risk to lose her leg. She had 3 or 4 surgeries to fix her tibia and to add soft tissue mass. When I had this patient, she was postop day 1 from a skin graft and had a wound vac. It happened to be a Saturday and the wound vac started to indicate a leak. I tried some basic troubleshooting but ended up calling Robin to ask her help. She walked me through 2 things to try, describing in detail what to do and what supplies I would need. After I was pretty sure I kind of understood how to do what she recommended I thanked her and that's when she happened to mention she was in California on vacation. Robin had taken quite a bit of time to explain how to fix the air leak, knowing that is was necessary for the skin graft to take. Knowing it was important to me, as a caregiver, but ultimately the patient in order for her leg to heal. She didn't think twice about spending the time to help me even though she was on vacation. That is the type of person Robin is and not only do her patients' benefit but St. Mary's benefit. I am so thankful to have Robin on our team.
