Robin is an integral part of not only our education team but also our St. John team. Her dedication to our caregivers and patients has a profound impact on the quality of care we all deliver.
I am pleased to nominate Robin Larsen for the DAISY Nurse Educator Award in recognition of her remarkable contributions as an educator to the ICU and float pool as well as her unwavering commitment to excellence throughout St. John.
Robin, although assigned to the ICU and float pool, consistently makes herself available to assist colleagues across the entire hospital. Her approachable demeanor and willingness to help have made her the go-to person for many, and she often takes on the unofficial role of “lead” among her peers, always being there to support and mentor them as they need.
Robin's dedication is seen over and over as she goes above and beyond in each of the projects that she undertakes.
Whenever a fellow caregiver needs information or education about a product, procedure, or any other critical topic, Robin is always there to provide support. She diligently conducts chart reviews and strategically plans ongoing education initiatives, notably through her work with the Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) program, ensuring it remains on a rotating schedule to keep caregivers informed and proficient.
In addition to her unit responsibilities, Robin teaches several classes and plays an active and crucial role in onboarding our new caregivers. Robin understands the importance of clear communication and takes time to evaluate the information being presented before moving forward, ensuring that it is correct and easy to understand and follow.
Robin is an integral part of not only our education team but also our St. John team. Her dedication to our caregivers and patients has a profound impact on the quality of care we all deliver. She is the perfect example of what a DAISY Nurse Educator Honoree should be as she embodies the spirit and values that this award signifies.
