Robin Melendez 2025, LPN

A patient of ours passed away right before shift change. The family arrived about 45 minutes later, but one of the daughters had two small children with her. Robin tactfully and compassionately offered to keep an eye on the children, keeping them safe and occupied while their guardians processed and said their goodbyes to their loved one. The patient’s daughter had forgotten her diaper bag at home, and Robin called 3 different units to ensure this family member had everything she needed during this difficult time. Even though we do not assume responsibility for children at the hospital, it was the best option at the time. Robin always shows unwavering compassion whenever she comes to work and ensures our patients and their families feel seen, heard, and cared for!
