Robin Pearson, RN

I was a patient at Atrium Health Lincoln for 18 days because of a bowel obstruction from Crohn's disease, and I was admitted to Robin's unit. The first night that she walked into my room, I had a feeling of relief wash over me. I have battled Crohn's disease for a long time and used to be in the hospital quite frequently. Coming back to the hospital, I recognized her name and face and knew instantly that I would have the most excellent care that could possibly be given. Robin is a seasoned bedside nurse, which is a rare thing to come by. Her experience and attention to detail are noticed immediately. I was fortunate enough to have her for approximately a total of 8 nights.
When under Robin's care, I never had to press my call button a single time. Due to her experience, she anticipated exactly what I needed before I even had to ask. She never failed to walk in the door just at the right moment to ask how my pain and nausea were and came prepared to medicate if needed. She never had to leave the room numerous times to grab things that were overlooked or forgotten. She always came prepared with a fresh cup of water, a hot pack for my stomach and back, and other essential items that I frequently asked for. She made me feel safe, understood, and important. I knew that if an emergent situation should arise in my health status, Robin would be there prepared and everything would be ok. I trusted/trust her!! If any of my family members, or myself, were hospitalized with a life-or-death situation, I would choose Robin every time to be the nurse on duty. She's always one step ahead and is always prepared. That's rare! Not only is Robin the most efficient nurse I've had, but she also does her job with a smile and the kindest heart. You would never know that she was busy with 5 or 6 other patients. I know that she makes every patient feel important. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Robin Pearson for the esteemed DAISY Award. I can't think of anyone more deserving.
