At our hospital, we had a difficult time treating and placing a patient with self-injurious behaviors. She injured staff, peers, and herself. The nurse on our unit sat with her and worked with her daily to develop a therapeutic rapport. She talked with the administration about a facility that fit our patient's unique needs. She aided and advocated for a safe discharge.

This LPN is such a great asset to our hospital. Her years of service and experience are something to be proud of. We are truly grateful to have such a caring nurse in our facility. I nominate this nurse for all levels of recognition we can give her. She is willing, knowledgeable, and provides excellent services at NOPH. I have been a patient on this unit for over 5 months. Since I got here, this nurse has gone over and beyond her job duties to help make our stay, as patients, more like our lives outside of here. She has gone beyond the scope of her job to supply me with comforts and meet my needs. She speaks to me and explains to me things in a way that allows me to relate to them. When it comes to medication pass, she is an essential worker and an extraordinary person that gets the job done quickly. She is the best nurse I have encountered during my stay. She is accommodating to talk to and has a great attitude. I look forward to having her as my nurse, sometimes more than one shift a day. I can tell she cares for her patients and their needs. She stands apart from most because of her care and concern. I want to give this nurse the GREATEST and WELL DESERVED thank you. She deserves to be recognized as an Extraordinary Nurse and that’s why I am nominating her for this award.
