Robin exemplifies compassion for both the patient and the patient's family. On one of my morning visits to see my son, the doctor peeked in and said, "your son will be able to go home in a couple of days; he is doing great." I started to cry. I questioned would he to be okay at home without the monitors and experts? Robin, Nash's RN that shift, hugged me and said we would go over any questions and concerns that I had. She answered all my questions and set me up to watch three videos, CPR, Care at Home and one on how to swaddle bath. She also set it up for me to meet with the occupational therapist to learn how to give my son an oil massage. Robin knew that I wanted my son's circumcision to be done a day before he left and she made that happen.
I am truly blessed, and so was my son, to have such a compassionate nurse taking care of all our needs. Robin made me feel strong. She helped me feel I could indeed take my son home at four pounds and not be scared. Every nurse that came into my son's room while Robin was our nurse left with a smile. She definitely makes a positive impact in her work environment. I know she brightens lives outside the workplace. I will be forever grateful for the wonderful care my son received at Miami Valley Hospital and for the special care from Robin.
