My husband J had very rare colon cancer. It grew so large in just a short, very short time and penetrated his abdominal wall in three places. Even the nurses at Moffitt had a hard time knowing how to manage this problem. Robyn was left to figure it out on her own. She did a very incredible job.

He had cellulitis and his skin was very sensitive; Robyn kept figuring out the best way to handle the three holes in his abdomen. She found the correct bags to use to cover the holes and worked on clearing up his skin around the holes. The wound care nurse at Moffitt and our surgeon told us Robyn really knew what she was doing.

When this cancer started, they didn't think J would live, and without Robyn tending his wounds, we don't think he would have recovered as he did. They were able to use trial chemotherapy and shrink the tumor and take it out. Robyn even came on her own time when a bag would leak because it was in a crease by J's waist and hard to keep from leaking. She always went the extra mile for us and I'm sure she did it for all her patients. Robyn was also great at calling our surgeon's nurse and getting the answers we needed. She wouldn't take no for an answer, and that made them easier to answer our calls. They were very impressed with Robyn's knowledge and they would listen to her.
