Head Nurse Rochelle Brown, RN is being recognized for providing exceptional leadership. She is noted to function with a high level of efficiency, skillfully balancing the responsibilities of ensuring safe, quality care while navigating the logistical challenges of a busy unit. As a champion of both the Professional Governance Committee for Med/Surg and the Clinical Ladder program, she eagerly drives staff engagement and professional development. She has the unique ability to stay calm under pressure and is dedicated to ensuring that all patients receive timely, high-quality care. She excels in applying her technical expertise and critical thinking skills and displays high levels of patience with effective listening and communication skills with her patients and her colleagues. Rochelle fosters a collaborative and positive team environment using a person-centered approach. She also showcases a willingness to assist her staff and her sister units, readily guides and offers support to nursing students from our academic partnerships, mentors, supports, and teaches all team members, especially new graduate nurses, so that they feel valued and empowered, which supports the facility’s overarching goal of staff retention.
