My developmentally disabled son was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with low oxygen, pneumonia, and sepsis. He was in ER and 3 East for a couple of days, then moved to IMCU. My son communicates very slowly and has difficulty expressing himself - especially when he’s so sick, frightened, and vulnerable. Roshelle immediately kicked in to help him with her patience and genuine caring. She spoke to him directly and explained what and why she was doing what was needed. Amazingly, I felt my son calm down and he gained trust in Roshelle (which usually takes months or years with strangers). I believe Roshelle is the key to my son’s recovery. We hope to bring him home in a few days.

Additionally, Roshelle took the time to explain to me everything that was going on and why. She kept me calm as well. My son is a very active, fun, and social guy. He loves the special Olympics (all sports), his farm-to-fork program, and all our family/friend social parties. He lives independently with support and has a great life. I sincerely believe Roshelle was the key to him returning to his good life! There aren’t enough words to express our appreciation! Thank you!

Thank you, Rochelle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
