One morning Rochelle was on her way to work and stopped for gas, while proudly wearing her navy scrubs.   As she was pumping her fuel, a man at the pump adjacent to hers experienced a medical emergency and became unresponsive. Patrons with the fallen person soon noticed he was pulseless and screamed for assistance.

Rochelle, who is a highly skilled RN, jumped into action. She quickly took charge of the scene, while people standing by called 911, and began performing CPR on the unresponsive patient for almost 25 minutes while awaiting the emergency responders.

To make the feat even more commendable, the victim's family/friends did not speak English. She worked diligently performing CPR while doing her best to communicate with the family on how to assist and how the man was doing despite the significant language barrier. Her actions embody what it means to be a nurse whether she was in the hospital or not.

Thank you, Rochelle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
