Shelly showed my mom such respect, and we are so thankful and blessed by her helpful hands!
We were at the hospital for my mom to have a biopsy. My Mom suffers from dementia and a 2+ year struggle to let us comb or even touch her hair. She was unburdened within 30 minutes by the patience of Shelly Robinson. She realized my mom had a mass of bobby pins nested deep in her matted hair, which needed to be removed for the procedure. Shelly led us to the gentlest option of cutting the bulk of her hair off. The notion was dramatic at first, worrying if my mom would be distraught since hair can be a security blanket. But there was practicality in her words and manner and an indescribable relief that someone was finally coming to our aid and my mom’s rescue. Shelly had such calm determination and was non-judgmental over something so personal. There was no questioning how it progressed to this point, but rather, she was empathetic and kind about the situation while working swiftly and so hard for a person she didn’t even know. We felt completely secure and cared for, and, in those moments, came such a release from years of tension and arguing over this and what must have been constant discomfort for my mom. Shelly showed my mom such respect, and we are so thankful and blessed by her helpful hands!
