In a setting where patients are often facing some of the hardest days of their lives, Laura and Robin bring light, comfort, courage, and hope.
I am honored to submit this nomination for Laura and Robin, my chemotherapy nurses at Centennial RMCC, in deepest recognition of the extraordinary care, compassion, professionalism, and strength they demonstrated during my first infusion treatment.
On Tuesday, as I began my first day of treatment with Obinutuzumab and Bendamustine, I stepped into that room carrying all the weight that comes with such a moment: uncertainty, vulnerability, hope, and determination. What Laura and Robin provided was far beyond nursing care alone. They brought an exceptional blend of clinical excellence and deeply human compassion that turned a difficult and emotional day into one marked by peace, confidence, dignity, and reassurance.
They were kind, professional, polished, confident, competent, consistent, attentive, and remarkably compassionate. Every interaction was marked by genuine empathy, calming presence, and unwavering excellence. They did not merely administer treatment. They ministered to the whole person sitting before them. They were patient when patience was needed, encouraging when encouragement mattered most, and steady when steadiness meant everything. Their demeanor was gracious, reassuring, and profoundly uplifting.
Undergoing chemotherapy is not simply a medical process. It is physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual all at once. Laura and Robin understood that without needing it fully explained. They carried themselves with such grace, precision, and heartfelt care that I knew I was in the hands of people who were not only highly skilled but truly called to what they do. Their compassion was not forced. Their empathy was not routine. Their professionalism was not mechanical. It was authentic, deeply personal, and powerfully healing.
As a Christian, we often pray for a miracle. We sometimes imagine that miracle arriving like a bolt of lightning from Heaven, instantaneous and dramatic, making all pain and fear disappear in a moment. But I have come to see something just as real and just as profound: sometimes the miracle is not only in the sudden event, but in the people God places directly in our path on the road to healing. My miracle is in them. Laura and Robin crossed my path at precisely the moment I needed them most, and I do not believe that was by accident. On my way to healing, God placed two remarkable women beside me, and through their hands, their hearts, and their care, I experienced His presence in a very real way.
Their work matters beyond measure. In a setting where patients are often facing some of the hardest days of their lives, Laura and Robin bring light, comfort, courage, and hope. They embody what nursing should be at its very best: clinically outstanding, emotionally intelligent, spiritually encouraging, and profoundly compassionate. They are the kind of professionals who leave a lasting impact not only on outcomes, but on lives.
I will never forget the care they gave me on that first day. It was exemplary in every sense of the word. It was thoughtful, tender, skillful, and extraordinarily sincere. They made me feel seen. They made me feel safe. They made me feel strengthened. And in a moment where so much can feel overwhelming, they brought calm, clarity, and comfort.
Laura and Robin are more than deserving of recognition. They are a credit to Centennial RMCC, to the nursing profession, and to every patient fortunate enough to be in their care. I offer this nomination with sincere gratitude, profound respect, and wholehearted appreciation for the exceptional difference they make every single day.
