When nurses graduate and start training they notice the strong, amazing nurses we all as "baby" nurses want to be like. We all have that one nurse we will always aspire to be and never forget. I have been a nurse here at HRMC for 12 years, Rodica 5 years, however, I find myself in awe of her skills and compassion hoping one day I will be as good as her. Rodica is a workhorse, she NEVER misses a shift, often works 4-5 shifts per week and long hours, staying over to help the next shift. Rodica doesn't stop moving until her patient is comfortable, bathed, fed, and medicated. Her patients really are her priority. She takes pride in caring for them and her patients LOVE her and her thick accent. The physicians here at HRMC always know Rodica will be taking excellent care of their patients. They listen to her concerns and/or suggestions. They have respect for her knowledge and work ethic.
With COVID-19 here, Rodica jumps right in, not scared or nervous to care for these patients. She spends 1-2 hours multiple times per shift in these rooms, dressed out in hot PPE, just caring for these patients like its nothing. I have a lot of admiration for her drive, compassion, work ethic, and skills. She makes me and others want to not only become better nurses but better people. She keeps her knowledge base up by reading new articles for school, reviewing up to date, and testing herself regularly. She is all in all a great asset to us. I am proud to call her a co-worker. Thank you, Rodica for your hard work every single day you are here.
