April 2014 Honoree
roffin roberts, RN
Roffin grew up in Zimbabwe and originally became a nurse to fulfill her mothers thwarted dreams of a nursing career. She found her niche in Maternity Nursing and this dream became her dream too!
After working in Zimbabwe on a Neurosurgery Unit, Roffin emigrated to England to study Midwifery, where she practiced as a Midwife for three years. She was recruited to Miami, Florida to work in a model LDRP unit where she stayed for fourteen years. During that time she lovingly cared for her younger sister who was blinded by a brain tumor. Sadly, her sister died. A travel assignment brought her to Maimonides Medical Center, Labor & Deliver unit and she decided to stay.
"I love Maimonides...it's a place where I can grow and I love the cultural diversity here."
