Rolando Perez, or "Rolo" as he is known, received multiple nominations from both staff and from patients. The common theme was he has what all nurses need, a kind, compassionate and empathetic manner. His approach in caring for his patients gives them hope and puts them at ease. He also cares for our chemotherapy patients and the family members also comment on how calm, professional and caring he is and how much they appreciate him taking care of their loved ones.
It was inspiring to see the number of staff, administration and physicians who showed up to help recognize and present the DAISY award to Rolando "Rolo" Perez and honor him as our very first DAISY Award Honoree.
