Romelyn E Caceres, RN
Ms. Romelyn E. Caceres, RN, began her career as an Emergency Room nurse, where she provided lifesaving care to soldiers with both battle and non-battle-related injuries. Her clinical competence, composure under pressure, and compassionate approach brought comfort and hope to countless patients and their families.
After 32 years of dedicated service, she continues to exemplify excellence as the hospital's Civilian Human Resource Supervisor while remaining an active Out-Patient Department Nurse, providing compassionate ambulatory care to approximately 85 patients each day. She is a steadfast advocate for both her patients and colleagues, ensuring quality care while fostering professional growth within the organization.
Beyond direct patient care, Ms. Caceres has made an enduring impact on military public health. As the hospital's PIDSR Sentinel, National Tuberculosis Program Coordinator, and HIV Counselor, she has strengthened disease surveillance, prevention, and treatment efforts. From 2003 to 2025, she successfully guided approximately 815 tuberculosis patients through treatment completion while providing HIV counseling, health education, and disease prevention initiatives that have protected the health and readiness of soldiers and the military community.
A recognized subject-matter expert and innovative leader, Ms. Caceres regularly delivers lectures on communicable diseases and pioneered localized monitoring programs that improved tuberculosis treatment compliance and early disease detection. Her initiatives have strengthened healthcare delivery, enhanced patient outcomes, and promoted a culture of prevention within the Armed Forces.
