November 2022 Honoree
Romelyn Magno, BSN, RN, CRN
Romelyn Magno expertly and compassionately handled all the complicated coordination steps in getting me the authorizations through my oncologist’s assistant, and she helped in navigating between 3 medical offices for my records, and scheduling. I was scheduled for an MRI-guided biopsy, and it was extremely stressful with the prospect of cancer looming on my psyche. Romelyn helped ease the anxiety I felt by being calm, compassionate, thorough, and following up promptly each step of the way as she promised.
On the day of the biopsy, she was present and competently saw to it that everything was done and checked off. In the MRI area, she was gentle and communicated to me all the information I needed to be more comfortable and relaxed. Unlike another in the room who pushed, and prodded aggressively and uncomfortably, Romelyn came in with a gentle and assuring hand. She also followed up with me just before I left the facility and remembered to get all the forwarding information from me for doctors who would need the results of the biopsy.
In a nutshell, Romelyn demonstrated the power that a competent, compassionate, and empathetic nurse has on the well-being of a patient and their overall care.
