Ron Eldridge, RN

Our 62-year-old father came to UF Health The Villages Hospital with an extremely rare lung disease and cardiac arrest. His ICU nurse, Ron Eldridge brought a light to the situation with his compassion. Ron connected with our family by sharing personal stories. He took the time to explain every beep on the monitor and walked us through every treatment that our beloved father was undergoing. When we had frustrations, Ron quickly escalated the situation so we could get the information that was critical to making the right decisions for our father’s care. Our father was so lucky to have Ron, who went above and beyond for our family – he will always have a place in our hearts! Ron was kind, attentive, and compassionate. As our final moments with our father were coming to an end, Ron took the time to say goodbye one last time after his shift had already ended. This kind of treatment cannot be trained – it is innate in those like Ron who lead with heart!
