Ron McMillian was nominated for the DAISY award following a brief encounter with a dying cancer patient and his family in the ED. During the very short time the patient was in the Emergency Department and in his care, the family appreciated the intimate and caring touch Ron provided. Ron can make the ordinary, extraordinary in the care he gives his patients during their limited time in the ED. Ron made such an impact in his care of the patient and family that they wrote a heartfelt thank you in the patient's obituary.
