He has dealt with every high and low from my diabetes to my bipolar disorder and never, not once did he make me feel alone or made me feel like this was a job to him.
I have had over 600 admissions to hospitals since the age of 13 due to my chronic diagnosis and weak immune system. A few nurses have made an impact on my life and one of them is Ron (Ronald Kwan). No matter my mood he was kind, sweet, and compassionate. He made me feel so safe in a situation where I didn't trust my own body. He has dealt with every high and low from my diabetes to my bipolar disorder and never, not once did he make me feel alone or made me feel like this was a job to him. He made me feel like family, as if I was his sister or niece when I'm crying. He does whatever to try and make me smile. He is so good that before I'm able to ask for my anxiety medication, he would notice my mood changing and try to talk it out and get me to relax. Ron made me feel important and I don't have people in my life that do that for me so for a stranger to do that I am beyond grateful for his warm and compassionate embrace. To everyone else, he may have just been doing his job but to me, he was giving me the strength and reason to push on. The bond we created will stay with me forever and that alone is priceless.
