Ronda has been a member of the Gifford Medical Birthing Center Team since 1998. In her 25 years as a staff nurse at Gifford Medical Center, she has consistently demonstrated her support and promotion of Women’s’ Health from both the outpatient clinic nurse and acute inpatient nurse roles. The patient's DAISY nomination below perfectly describes the impact Ronda has on the lives of women and their families every single day:

“My husband and I got admitted to the Birthing Center when my water broke at 14 weeks. This was an incredibly stressful, scary, and emotional time for both of us. We feel as though we got SO lucky with the whole support team that was working that night and in the following days, but in the most stressful first few hours, Ronda was there to not only advocate for us but make us feel as comfortable as possible during one of the worst days of our lives. Although I was technically the patient, she made sure my husband understood everything that was happening as well. There were moments when we had questions but couldn't come up with the actual words. The look of confusion/fear on both of our faces was enough for Ronda to ask those questions, and likely more, for us as if she knew exactly what was going through our minds.

She then made it a point to stick around after the provider left the room to explain everything further to ensure we weren't left questioning anything. We were sad to see her go when her shift ended and wish we could thank her a million more times. Thank you, Ronda.”

It is her remarkable intuition, compassion, and knowledge that make her an irreplaceable part of our Birthing Center team; we are so proud and thankful to work with her as she makes us better as she practices excellence every day.
