I asked Ron to go to the ER to get a patient's wife out of the car to come up to see her husband on 5E, who was on comfort measures. They have been married for 58 years. His wife is in a nursing home and cannot walk or stand. Ron put a gait belt on her and lifted her up and set her in the wheelchair. He made it look so easy.
Ron never hesitated to help at all when asked. This act of kindness made this couple and their family very happy. My charge nurse on that day, Whitney, is pregnant and was going to get the wife from the car and Ron stepped up to help. He is a very caring and compassionate nurse. He truly deserved the DAISY award! Thank you!
