Rosa was available to them constantly and made sure that all team members felt heard and that their concerns were being taken seriously.
Rosa is a leader who truly stepped up during a time when the Mother Baby unit lacked formalized leadership. Her immediate leader was out on an extended leave of absence, and she stepped into an interim Nurse Manager role and provided the presence, mentorship, communication, and team building that the team members needed. She was available to them constantly and made sure that all team members felt heard and that their concerns were being taken seriously.
Rosa ensured that she knew the employees as human beings first and she always looked at situations through the lens of the employee and considered what they could be going through. She created a unit project to understand the team's love languages and to utilize this knowledge to improve communication and connection among the team. She also planned unit events like bowling to drive connection with the team members. Rosa is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
