We misunderstood which center we were to go to, so we were quite late. The Mequon group had called Germantown to explain, and when we finally arrived, everyone was extremely nice and rearranged the schedule. L got us settled in and explained what would happen.

After the procedure, Rosa took over A's care. All seemed well, but he just wouldn't wake up. I could see the monitor, and everything looked normal. Rosa said that it's not unusual for some people to take advantage of the nap time. But I could see her also watching the monitor closely while keeping me calm as we waited for the doctor to come in. He came and explained everything to me, and as he was leaving, he shook A and shouted for him to wake up. That did the trick, and A groggily asked the doctor the questions he'd just answered for me. Rosa smiled and whispered to me that he probably wouldn't remember that part later on.

Through the entire recovery period, Rosa kept a cheery attitude, reassuring me while keeping constant attention to the vital signs on the monitor. She didn't leave our sides until it was obvious that he could get dressed on his own after she made sure he had some juice and crackers. Then she came back to walk him out.

If it weren't for Rosa and her cheerful attentions, I probably would have been a nervous wreck! She was the sweetest thing and never complained that we caused her to stay late. Instead, she made us feel like the most important people she'd seen all day.
