My husband and I had flown in from Washington State in what was a rapidly worsening state of my father-in-law's Cancer and Respiratory status. As a nurse, and one who facilitates Care Management and Population Health, the truly important part of a care team is the attitude, approach and understanding that is displayed. Rosa Vasquez worked diligently to check in with us, keep us apprised of options, his status and partnering with the palliative care provider and the charge nurse, Bessie Pea. This was a difficult time, and their kindness and empathy meant so much to us. We will always remember their care as we reflect on the last few hours of his time with us.
