Rosamma Gomez, RGN

This was my first time in the hospital, and after having an MRI cancelled on two separate occasions, I felt powerless, vulnerable, and extremely emotional. When Rosamma came to my bedside, she created a holding moment that I will never forget. She listened without judgment, spoke with genuine kindness, and made me feel heard, valued, and respected at a time when I truly needed it.

Rosamma went above and beyond to support my emotional needs. She offered reassurance, patiently addressed my concerns, and even suggested moving me to a smaller ward to help me feel more at ease. She told me I could bring my family to visit, ensuring I would not feel alone in such a vulnerable situation.

It is moments like these that make a profound difference in a person’s life. Rosamma did not treat me as a statistic or a number. She treated me the way every person hopes to be treated when they are frightened and unsure with humanity, compassion, and genuine care.

Rosamma is a remarkable nurse who practices with a deeply person-centred approach. Connolly Hospital is fortunate to have her, especially given the challenges within the HSE. She showed me dignity at a time when I needed it most.
