Rosana demonstrates the core values of UMCNO on a daily basis. She is caring, compassionate, and a tremendous resource to her co-workers and the community. She works tirelessly to ensure that her patients (or anyone who seeks her out for help) have a successful encounter at UMC. Rosana is a wonderful resource to the Spanish-speaking patients in our community. She assists individuals in the lobby or hallway who appear to need assistance. She gets calls frequently from patients she cared for years ago (at her former position in the medical clinic) who seek her out as a trusted resource. She never tells them no, she continues to assist them as long as they need her.

We in PAT are so fortunate to have Rosana as a colleague and friend. She helps us every day with translation/communication with our Spanish-speaking patients. She always responds with a "yes" to every request, even when her workload is heavy. I am convinced her communication is much more effective than any other.

One recent example: A young Spanish-speaking patient was coming for the first time to UMC from out of town. She was halfway through her pregnancy when it was discovered she had a potentially malignant cyst in her reproductive system. She was scheduled to have surgery for the situation. She and her husband were in fear for her life and the life of her unborn child. Rosana worked untiringly to make sure this patient was cared for. Without being asked, Rosana met the frightened family in the lobby and escorted them to all pre-op appointments. Rosana ensured that this lady knew exactly what was going to happen in order to ease the patient's fears. This is just one example of the outstanding work that Rosana Jensen does each day. Rosana Jensen is kind, compassionate, and a tremendous resource.
