My papa was in the ICU for almost two weeks. He had stage 4 lung cancer, the flu, and a fungal infection. We were blessed to have Roseann as a nurse for a few days. While my papa was intubated, she cared for him as if he were her own. She brushed his hair and brows, and constantly reminded him of the day and time. She also does a great job of making connections with patients’ families. She sat and talked with us as we walked through the loss of my papa. She told stories that made us laugh, and we are forever thankful for the memories she helped create. As we transferred out of the ICU into comfort care, she gave us hugs and was just as brokenhearted as we were. During our stay, across four different levels/departments, I couldn’t think of anyone else who took as good care of my papa as she did. Thank you, Roseann, it means more than words could ever express.
