October 2017 Honoree
rosanne eklund, RN
It had been a long day of waiting for contractions to progress. When shift change came around, in you walked and I immediately felt more comfortable. Even though I work in a hospital myself, being a patient is completely different. I am extremely anxious when it comes to anything medical. You explained everything, kept me calm, and showed me ways to manage the contractions. When my husband, the firefighter, fainted, you remained composed and kept me focused on pushing. After the baby arrived, you accompanied us to the 3rd floor and helped us get settled in. While we were in your care, you were nothing short of compassionate, attentive, and encouraging. You maintained a sweet disposition, were thoughtful and showed concern for our wellbeing. You even offered to go to the cafeteria and buy my husband food because he didn't want to leave my side. You made our first-time experience truly amazing and unforgettable. Thank you so much for everything you did that night. What may have been another day at work for you, was a once in a lifetime moment for us.
Thank you, Rosanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
