Rose Atkinson goes above and beyond for her patients, has a strong moral compass, and continually advocates for high-quality patient care. She is a fierce advocate for patients and works diligently to establish trusting relationships with every patient, family, and the community she cares for.

Rose is a first-generation college student, from rural central Wisconsin, who has spent most of her life in flux between living in poverty and the working-class. She feels this gives her a unique ability to truly understand the many challenges patients face. She takes great pride in her ability to care for patients holistically, to see beyond symptoms, and understand the various aspects—such as socioeconomic status, race, ability, and many others—that impact their health and healthcare.

Rose is never afraid to speak up for those she believes are not being heard. She encourages her classmates to use gender-inclusive language and to consider a patient's specific circumstances. She is dedicated to helping each of the patients she works with navigate their healthcare experience in a positive and equitable manner.
