I have been blessed overall with great providers through the journey, but my interaction with Rose yesterday ranks highest among all my previous nursing encounters.
I had the pleasure of meeting Rose yesterday while receiving multiple trigger point injections. To give brief context, I have had, and currently have, numerous specialists due to chronic health conditions and have interacted with countless nurses for decades. I have been blessed overall with great providers through the journey, but my interaction with Rose yesterday ranks highest among all my previous nursing encounters.

There has never been a time that I felt more cared for than the level of empathy and compassion Rose demonstrated to me. Truly, the only previous experience I can compare it to is when my mother had hospice nurses caring for her, and their level of CARE and dedication was life-changing for our family, and I didn't know that level of extraordinary medical care existed before then. No personal medical experience before or since has ever impacted me so much regarding that level of genuine concern, compassion, encouragement, empathy, above and beyond kindness and professionalism, until Rose!

She was so warm and nurturing, had an extraordinary ability to connect as she worked to distract me from any discomfort, and truly had what we wish all nurses to have: a healing touch. Her attentiveness, kind words, and encouragement, not only during the injections but also afterward, made me feel I had a trusted friend in the room with me, not simply an excellent nurse doing her job.

She could teach a master class in the nursing tenet of beneficence, as she most certainly provided patient-centered care and positivity through compassion and emotional support. I am truly honored to have been cared for by her. In my decades of being a somewhat complex patient, I can't think of anyone more deserving of such a distinction.
