January 2026 Honoree
Rose Jean-Louis
Rose’s bedside manner and dedication during her Pediatric clinical rotation have been exemplary. She displayed a warm, caring attitude and consistently interacted with clients at the facility. Week after week, her praises came pouring in from the nursing staff. So much so that one nurse sought me out to tell me how excellent and dedicated she was. She was always prepared for clinical, asked intelligent, thoughtful questions, and was motivated to make her clinical experience the best it could be. Rose never hesitated to try a new skill and was the first student to head towards a patient if the staff asked for help.
On an exceptionally busy day, one of the nurses told me that Rose made her day easier and better during a shift that could easily have broken her. She can be described as a critical thinker who has great compassion. Her compassion was evident as she interacted with patients in a thoughtful, nonjudgmental manner.
I believe Rose will be an exceptional RN, and I would be proud to have her as a colleague. I hereby nominate her for the DAISY Award for Outstanding Nursing Student.
