Rose embodies all of the characteristics of this award. While I can recite a number of examples, the most recent was particularly touching. A patient was very ill from COVID-19, with multi-organ failure. Rose spent a great deal of time communicating with the family. They opted for comfort care, but no family members were able to come in. Later once we started with comfort measures, and extubated the patient, Rose sat in the room in all of her protective gear and held the patient's hand. Rose truly inspires me during this difficult time as caregivers.
