Rose Thelus, BSN, RN

I’m aware that ordinarily, these nominations are from patients, but I didn’t want to leave this hospital without giving proper regard to Rose Thelus. Rose was an incredible preceptor. She was patient, kind, and accommodating. She allowed me the space to learn and to feel it was okay to make (safe) mistakes. She taught me everything I wanted to know and more.

I was able to receive a deeper perspective than a patient would and that was to see how she interacted with every patient. She was gentle and sweet, she never rushed a new mom. She gave them the attention they needed to feel confident in this new transition in life. She is an example of what a nurse should be. Even when she was tired, a patient never was given the shorthand. She is amazing to her coworkers, and there wasn’t a single person who didn’t speak highly of her. She is an incredible asset not only to this hospital but to the institution of nursing.
