Rose is a great person, a great worker, a great peer, and a champion for "doing what's right."
Rose facilitates our physician peer review process at Mercy. Rose is a leader across CHI Health in this role. Rose does thorough chart reviews, investigations, and works with staff and leaders to assure she has the right information to take forward to our physicians to evaluate the quality of care our patients receive.
Rose is honest and always acts with the utmost integrity. Rose has earned the respect for the last 40+ years of work at Mercy by the physicians and leaders. I frequently will hear Rose say, "What if that was your mother, father, brother, sister, husband, etc?" Rose completes her record reviews with privacy and always assures confidentiality.
Rose also is known as the person to take concerns to because they know she will follow it through and make sure it is investigated honestly and with respect to those involved. Rose is always one of the first ones to volunteer to assist another employee in need.
Recently the Mercy Quality Department was informed that an employee at another campus was going through a very difficult time. Her sister was battling a very aggressive cancer, and had 3 young children. Rose donated the $40 gift Visa card that was given to her anonymously at Mercy for doing an excellent job. In addition, Rose told her children about the hardship this family was going through during the holiday season. Her daughter donated $100 for this family. She also shared the story of this family with her grandchildren at Christmas to convey the meaning of compassion and giving to others. Rose is an incredible caring person, and we are privileged to have her working at Mercy.
