March 2016 Honoree
rose white, RN
Rose is one of the hardest working RN's that I have ever known. But no matter now busy or hectic it was she just hung in there. Before and after J's surgery she was there to administer to his needs and help him get better. We looked forward to her coming every night. But one incident really made us understand the power of healing hands.
After a horrifying procedure left J in severe pain, she performed all her nursing duties competently and steadily. At the end I looked at her and said," I guess all we can do now is pray". She put her hand on J's chest, next to mine and said a prayer. I felt the power of it. He immediately calmed down. I am not given to belief in such things but in this case I was there! It happened. I'm sure some would say it was a scientifically based event. But my money's on Rose and the power she and nurses like her have in their practice of nursing care.

Thank you, Rose, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
