Rose went above the call of duty for her patient. This patient had retractable pain and the medication she uses to manage this at home is unavailable through the hospital's pharmacy. The patient's POA does not drive and had no way of delivering the medication to the hospital. We tried to manage her pain through alternative medications, but the patient had a restless night as she was still experiencing discomfort after reporting off to the oncoming nurse. Rose reached out to the patient's POA and drove to her house to retrieve the medication. The patient was so grateful for this kind act. Rose's coworkers are proud to work alongside someone who is so caring and dedicated to her patients. She is the epitome of what it means to be a nurse.
