From the moment that Rose started her shift, she made herself aware of my condition and treatment plan and joyfully introduced herself. I felt her positive energy right away. She made me feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. What I appreciate and admire so much is how she did not hesitate to jump right in and assist me with bathing. She went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, even though it may not have been the most appealing part of her job. She always took the time to make things easier for me. For example, although I was weak and on continuous oxygen, I had to use the bedside commode rather than go to the restroom. However, understanding my need for autonomy, Rose took the time to get oxygen extension tubing to allow me to go to the restroom, where I was much more comfortable and felt safer than on the commode. It is the little things of a human's basic needs that Rose took the initiative and had the mindset and compassion to help me. Rose also always explained to me what medications she was administering to me and what they were for. My sincerest gratitude to Rose for her exceptional care and dedication. Her professionalism, kindness, and compassion have made a tremendous difference during my hospitalization. It is clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and her hard work should be recognized. Thank you, Rose, for everything you did to care for me during one of the most difficult times of my life. You truly made a positive impact in my hospital experience, and I am sure you will continue to make one on all of your patients.
