Rose builds employee morale and motivation by involving employees in setting goals, inspiring self-confidence in others, and offering frequent and timely feedback to improve or add value.
Rose currently serves as the nurse manager for the Montgomery County Ambulatory Surgery Center and Children's National Imaging (MoCo ASC and CNI). It has been through her leadership, service excellence, and engagement with patients and families, staff, and physicians that we have seen amazing patient satisfaction and RN satisfaction scores. She is an extremely talented leader, who through her compassion, commitment, and connection goes above and beyond to ensure department, staff, and patient needs are met.
Her efforts to improve the patient care process and throughput at the surgery center and CNI are just one example of Rose's compassion. Although she drives 97 miles each way to work, it is not uncommon for Rose to arrive at 5:45 in the morning to ensure the COVID clinic is ready to go, to come in on a Saturday, or call into meetings and touch base with staff on her vacation. Rose consistently makes time for patients, parents, and staff.
Rose's commitment to CNH is unrivaled. She is a wonderful mentor who has successfully mentored staff into various leadership positions. Most recently, Rose was able to help an employee who was not offered a position for which she applied. Understanding this nurse was not offered the position due to a lack of leadership experience, Rose offered to mentor her and provide her with some informal leadership experience so she will be better positioned for the next opportunity. Rose's compassion toward this nurse and commitment to help her succeed sets her apart.
All of this is made more impressive by the time and energy she has dedicated to the opening of the Prince George's Regional Outpatient Center (PG ROC) and specifically the surgery and imaging centers. Rose's attention to detail, knowledge of both imaging and surgery, contributed to the success of the new design for surgery and imaging centers and at PG. Rose's flexibility and accountability enable her to anticipate problems and quickly implement contingency plans to ensure patient care needs are considered and met prior to a decision being made. The success of the ASC and CNI at MoCo is directly related to her leadership, and her continued mentorship will contribute to the success of PG.
Rose builds employee morale and motivation by involving employees in setting goals, inspiring self-confidence in others, and offering frequent and timely feedback to improve or add value. She leads with integrity and inspiration. She encourages and collaborates with all team members across the organization, asking the right questions to bring the best team approach to any situation. Rose is a leader who consistently strives for excellence, who leads and inspires others; this striving, leading, and inspiration has led to an excellent RN satisfaction score where the ASC outperformed the 2019 pulse check aggregate in 7/10 categories.
