My mom was in the hospital in November with an infection in her left foot and in bone, and Rosemarie was one of her nurses. Rosemarie actually took the time to make sure she was comfortable in bed, took the time to explain everything to us, gave Mom a lotion back massage, and would adjust the pillows on Mom's bed until she was comfortable. Now Mom is back in the hospital in January, with a life-threatening infection in her blood and had to have part of her leg and foot amputated. Rosemarie has been one of her nurses again. Rosemarie sits and talks with Mom to help calm her, gives her back massages, knows how to make Mom comfortable, and always has Mom's best interest in mind. She always asks if we need anything. To us, she exemplifies everything to be a DAISY Honoree. She has been so good with Mom that we have invited her into our family. Mom always smiles when she sees her. Rosemarie always goes above and beyond. I imagine that if she does that for Mom, then she does it for all of her patients. Nurse Rosemarie took the initiative to test Mom for a UTI and when it was positive, got the okay to remove the catheter and got antibiotic. She always made sure Mom was clean and her bed and pads were clean and she had cream on her bad spots under her belly and on her bottom. I can't think of anyone more deserving to be a DAISY Honoree, and with Mom's stays in the hospital, she has had a lot of nurses. Rosemarie has been the best for her and a big help in her healing.
