My son, N, and I were diagnosed with cancer within months of each other. N is 22 and autistic. He had to get a biopsy. N was very nervous and scared. We are used to having to redirect, comfort, and advocate for our son. However, that day was harder than most. We had two beautiful nurses help Nigel. Rose was one of them. She took her time explaining to N what was happening. She made him feel comfortable until he had to go back for his biopsy.
 
When N had to get his port put in. Rose was not his nurse that day, but she saw that N was back and came in to help the other nurses. N remembered her and immediately felt calm. N went back for surgery, and when we were leaving, Rose made sure to say goodbye.

N was back for his port removal surgery. And when N was walking in, he noticed Rose and said hello. Rose was not N's nurse; however, she came over to him and talked for a bit. She also checked on me; she knew that I had breast cancer and wanted to know how I was doing. N went through the port removal like a champ. We have to thank Rose for her kindness and love. She took the time to show our son that the way he was feeling was okay and that there are beautiful people in the world who will take the time and make him feel comfortable.
